Life Update

Hi guys!

I'm just gonna do a short post on how I have been because I know I've been a bit m.I.a (so sorry!). I have been really busy with school and work, and just two days ago I got all four of my wisdom teeth extracted- so I've also been bed ridden. For the extraction, I chose to be sedated which turned out to be a bit more complicated than what I was expecting it to be. I have super small veins so when the surgeon first tried to insert the IV into the vein in my forearm, he ended up hitting a valve. It's not as painful as you guys might think! It just feels like getting a blood test. So afterwards, I had to get the IV inserted a second time into the vein in my hand. Seconds after the IV was inserted, I blacked out. When I woke up I was in my own bed, which was comforting (parents took me home, of course!). But my hand and forearm are still bruised and ache-y from the IV. What I found really surprising though, was that I did not swell up! No chipmunk face! I think it's because I''ve been eating a lot of anti inflammatory foods such as turmeric prior to the surgery. I also think it depends on how much trauma the surgeon creates which will determine how much an individual will swell post surgery. Overall, I think the surgery went smoothly, I just wish I had bigger veins haha. I'll end this post with a picture I took about 8 hours after my surgery.

No swollen cheeks!

Outfit of the Day #4 | Spring 2014

Hi guys!
Today after class I went with a couple friends to Café Joie, a small cafe near where I live. I got a box of macarons and the packaging was just so cute I didn't even want to open it. I decided to do a quick outfit of the day too, I wore a sleeveless top with a high neck and subtle animal print. I'm usually not drawn to animal print but I thought this shirt was subtle enough for me to be comfortable in. I really like the high neck trend as well, I think its very cute and chic :). Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy the rest of your week!

6 Products I Couldn't Live Without | Tag

Hi guys!

I hope you all had a lovely long weekend, I decided to do the 6 products I couldn't live without tag. This tag is actually quite old but I have seen it circulating around again so I thought I'd give it a go. I tag all you guys to do it too :)

1. CLARINS moisture replenish lip balm. This is my holy grail lip balm. It makes my lips so smooth and I always put this on before applying lipstick or even a gloss for extra moisturization. It also comes in a little squeeze tube which makes it super hygienic!

2. MAYBELLINE Babylips in Cherry. I LOVE this. I wear this everyday for school, it's my go to lip product when I'm lazy and just want some colour I can quickly swipe on.

3. REAL TECHNIQUES Buffing brush. This is the best foundation brush I currently own, I will probably find better brushes in the future but for now I don't know what I would do without it.

4. JOHNSON'S extra conditioning shampoo. Don't laugh at me! This is my current shampoo, and I love it! It has made my hair so super soft and healthy looking. Plus it's for babies so it's super gentle (less chemicals than regular shampoo) and has a pleasent scent. pleasant scents are always a bonus right?

5. L'OCCITANE Divine Cream. This is my current moisturizer. I love it a lot, it has helped some of my dark spots fade, but it is so expensive! I can't see myself loving any other moisturizers at the moment because I feel like nothing that I have used in the past can even compare to this one. The smell is also absolutely divine (see what I did there? Hahaha...k I'm lame.) I don't even want to think about what I would do once I run out. Quite frankly, the idea of spening money on another one of these babies make my heart sink a little. But we''ll see once I run out..

6. MICELLAIRE water. Just any micellaire water in general..Bioderma to even the garnier one. I feel like this is the best at removing makeup and I like to use it as a toner as well. Its super gentle and it feels super refreshing.

And that's it! It was actually quite hard to come up with 6 products I absolutely could not live without because I think realistically I could probably live without any of these... except for lip balm hahaha.

Kristie

Shopping and French Pastries

Hi guys!

Today was a beautiful day so a friend from school and I decided to spend some time together. We ended up doing a little bit of shopping and ate French pastries at a place called Thierry. I was trying to find fairy lights (white flower vintage looking ones) and didn't have much luck :(. So I didn't end up buying too much, just a plain white Tshirt from J.Crew and a cardigan from Topshop. J.Crew gave out bouquet of flowers to those who purchased something today. My friend didn't want his bouquet so he ended up giving his to me haha. At Thierry, my friend decided to get the millefeuille while I got the mousse au fromage blanc, and we shared an apple green tea. It was absolutely delicious! Going for cakes and tea is one of my favourite things to do so I'd say today was a good day! :)

Kristie

Going Lighter for Summer!

Hi guys!

I decided to dye my hair again for the upcoming warmer months. I used Liese Prettia foam dye in Glossy Brown. The picture above was actually taken two days after dying it under my bathroom light. I actually dyed it on Wednesday so if you check out my previous post, you can see how my hair looks under natural light the day of. I really like this hair dye, I've been using it for the past year and I don't think it damages my hair very much in comparison to other hair dyes I have used in the past. What I like about this hair dye is that over time, the color becomes more vibrant. After dying it, I trimmed the ends of my hair myself and that was it! I usually dye my hair about 2 or 3 times a year? I'm not sure if that is considered a lot haha. I'll post an update in a few weeks to show you guys how the color becomes more vibrant! If you're interested in how I take care of my hair, I have written a post about that a while ago. You can read that HERE :) if you fancy a read.

Kristie
